Hygienically Critical new Hoists from JD Neuhaus

JD Neuhaus, a world leader in the production of lifting solutions, has come out with its new range of air operated hoists and trolleys especially suitable for use in specialised hygienic conditions. Clean room operational products are of particular significance in the chemical and the pharmaceutical industries. However, JD Neuhauser has gone a step forward and gone on to include specialised equipment needed in the food and drink industries as well, with handling and manufacturing of products.

The new hoist line will possess extended features including a 25 µm plate thickness. This will ensure that the products are resistant to both humidities as well as the general corrosion. The lift and the lower motor will feature nickel plating along with the gearbox and the main body. In case the hoist in question is trolley mounted for operation in overhead rails, the body of the trolley, as well as both the motors (driving and traverse), will feature nickel plating as well.

However, this will be beside the stainless steel option in case a client has specific requirements. The top suspension hook, as well as the load hook and the sleeve, can be provided in stainless steel variants for further protection. The lift or the lower chain mechanism, and the chain bag capable of holding the capacity of a 12-meter long chain can also be customised in stainless steel. However, the use of the stainless steel variant for the hook and the chain will deteriorate the lifting capacity by 0.75 metric tonnes. Additional customizations include plastic boxes for holding the chain of varying lengths (3, 6 or 12 meters) as well as a 12 meter long galvanised chain.

A salient feature of the new products is the fact that the lift motor is capable of operating without any lubricants and that all hoists are explosion protected in compliance with Directive 2014/34/EU [Equipment & Protective Systems Intended for use in Potentially Explosive areas (ATEX)]. The hoists are also 100% duty rating classified with the capacity of operating without any downtime.

Currently, the models available in the nickel plated range are the Profi TI hoists with a half-ton or a full 1-ton lift capability along with a big bag handling unit that has a one metric tonne lift capacity. Along with this, a one metric tonne low headroom trolley, expressly designed for operation in areas with low headroom clearance is also available. In case Profi hoists are used in conjunction with trolleys having overhead rail mountings, trolleys in either the manual operated variant (LN type) or the automated variant (LM type) are available, which can be specifically Nickel treated for use in areas sensitive to the environmental hygiene.
