Today at the Energy NL Conference in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, attendees heard from one of the most remarkable figures in offshore energy and commercial diving: Chris Lemons.

If you don’t know his story, it’s worth your time.

In September 2012, while working as a saturation diver nearly 300 feet beneath the North Sea, Chris experienced a catastrophic failure that should have been fatal. A dynamic positioning failure aboard the support vessel caused his umbilical lifeline—the connection supplying oxygen, heat, communications, and power—to snap. Instantly, he was alone in complete darkness on the seabed with only a few minutes of emergency breathing gas remaining.

What happened next continues to puzzle medical experts.

After his emergency supply ran out, Chris remained stranded on the ocean floor for approximately 30 minutes before being recovered by fellow divers Dave Yuasa and Duncan Allcock. Against all expectations, he survived—and remarkably suffered no lasting neurological damage.

The incident became the subject of the acclaimed 2019 documentary Last Breath, which used actual dive footage, real communications recordings, and interviews with the crew involved. The documentary captivated audiences worldwide because it wasn’t a dramatization—it was a real-life account of teamwork, courage, offshore professionalism, and survival against impossible odds.

Last Breath

The story was so extraordinary that it was later adapted into the 2025 feature film Last Breath, starring Woody Harrelson as Duncan Allcock, Simu Liu as Dave Yuasa, and Finn Cole as Chris Lemons.

But beyond the Hollywood adaptation, Chris’s story resonates deeply with those who work in offshore energy. It is a powerful reminder of the risks faced by workers every day, the critical importance of safety systems, and the extraordinary professionalism of the people who operate in some of the world’s most challenging environments.

Hearing Chris speak today wasn’t just hearing a survival story. It was hearing firsthand about resilience, preparation, teamwork, and the thin line between disaster and recovery in offshore operations.

Some stories are hard to believe.

This one actually happened.

It really is one of the greatest feelings in the world to be acknowledged by your peers….which is exactly what happened today at the @EnergyNL breakfast awards. I can’t believe I’ve been in the energy business for 32 years now…it truly has been an honour. And I’m not going anywhere yet, we may have flatlined during Covid19, reduced to zero….but even so, in many regards I feel like I’m just getting started.

The good news is… The OGM is the OFFICIAL magazine for Canada’s top 4 Hydrogen & Renewable conferences this year!!! Boom – how to make a come back.

Bring on the energy – mind, body, spirit, community, industry.. It’s all about energy. Energy to matter, matter to energy…it’s all right here in our hands to create a sustainable new energy future…and the only way we are going to do that is to be ENERGIZED ourselves. Energy is an inside game. You generate energy and the world flows from there.

Way to go to all the people who got awards today because there’s nothing harder than surviving and thriving 30+ years in business in Newfoundland. It takes being a WARRIOR, a super strong conviction…and a willness to take on yourself and all the tough challenges and turn them into opportunities and contributions.
May the next 30 years of energy be even more exciting as we see new eVOL planes in our skies, new AI systems taking care of all the mundane jobs, a globalization of our economies and an entirely new techonolgically advanced society.

I’m so proud to now be an elder. I’ll be 60 this year….and every wrinkle has a story of hardship transformed to grace and contribution to others. In my view…that’s the best we really have.
If you have a legacy story to tell in TheOGM.com I want to hear from you because any company over 30 years old, deserves a world of recognition and I’d love to tell your story.

Over and out!
Tina Olivero

Janet Cull is a St. John’s icon. If she’s not rocking it out at Spirit of Newfoundland, she’s singing a tune in the park, on tour with her new albums […]

Janet Cull is a St. John’s icon. If she’s not rocking it out at Spirit of Newfoundland, she’s singing a tune in the park, on tour with her new albums or chillin’ in the downtown bar scene.

Hearing Janet sing is like watching an iceberg float by off the narrows. She is everything: water, beauty, natural and feeling. The woman has soul and she’s not afraid to share it with us. That takes guts.

For her most recent musical works, Janet has won three MusicNL awards: FACTOR Album of the Year, Female Artist of the Year and Pop/ Rock Artist of the Year.

Janet was selected as Singer Universe’s Best Vocalist of the Month and was the only Canadian winner (Vocal Performance Category) of the 2017 Unsigned Only International Competition. Janet’s “Island Soul Tour” was a smashing success with local Newfoundland shows as well as travelling to other places of the world. She’s had a blast!

Now with two award-winning albums to her credit, Janet is taking the world by storm, simply doing what she loves to do the most, ‘feeling’ all that life is and is not, and sharing that with people. For those in the energy industry, who would like to book Janet privately for a special event, she is available and you would be incredibly lucky to have her. www.Janetcull.com

At The OGM, we had the opportunity to interview Janet Cull. Here’s what she had to say:

1. Where are you from, misses?

I was born and raised in St. Anthony Bight on the Great Northern Peninsula. I have however been living in St. John’s for 20 years now so this is home now.

2. How did you get into music?

I began singing in church (the Salvation Army) at the age of four. I grew up in quite a musical family surrounded by music. I decided at the age of 19 to sing professionally and haven’t looked back since. It’s not a choice anymore. its a way of life!

3. What makes you passionate about Newfoundland?

Growing up near the ocean is extremely inspiring! It’s such a part of who I am. It’s the beauty and the struggle. Being an islander is so special and it’s something that only others who have grown up on an island can really understand.

4. What inspires your music?

My experiences are the biggest thing that inspires my writing. I like to sing about what I live through day-to-day or even just a specific moment of my life. Music for me is feeling so that’s what I sing about.

5. What are you working on now?

I just finished writing songs for a new album so I will be touring the Island over the summer and bringing my new tunes to my audiences. I am hoping to get in the studio to record the next album in the fall of 2019.

7. What does it take to be successful?

The music business is a tricky one. The most important thing for me is to be true to myself and do what it is I WANT…not necessarily what someone else thinks you SHOULD do to be successful. Success means different things to different people. My biggest success without a doubt is my beautiful son Jack. It’s very important to me that he grows up knowing his mommy stuck to her guns and produced and released music she is very proud of. There’s always more to learn as a performer/artist. You never stop learning…..I LOVE that!

8. What type of gigs are your favourite?

I don’t really have a specific favourite gig with regards to venue whether it be a theatre, bar, etc. as long as I move my audience. When I can feel their emotion from the stage that’s what really makes me happy with my performance. The whole point is for me to feel and in turn the audience will feel it as well.

9. What’s your vision and goal for your career?

I really just want to continue to write and perform. I just recently played in Greenland, which was absolutely AMAZING! I want to continue to tour and share my music with different people. I want to learn from other musicians and work with other artists.

10. What makes your music so powerful?

I think what makes my performance so powerful is that I put my entire heart and soul into it. My music is coming from such an honest and sometimes very vulnerable place. It’s a way for me to connect with myself and also the audience. Music is the universal language.

11. What advice do you have for aspiring musicians?

Always follow your instinct. Listen to as much live music as possible. LISTENING is so important. I’ve learned so much over the years from other writers, singers, and performers. Stay true to who you are and don’t let the little things get ya down!

Both of Janet’s award-winning albums are available on Janetcull. com and you can also find her music on: ITunes and Spotify

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

2004 – Janet Cull Band was awarded ‘Group of the

2017 – Female Artist of the Year, Factor album of

the Year, Pop Rock Artist of the Year

Inclusive is a word that we live by here at The OGM. We try to ask the question each day, “how can we be more inclusive.” It’s not always easy […]

Inclusive is a word that we live by here at The OGM. We try to ask the question each day, “how can we be more inclusive.” It’s not always easy to be 100% inclusive but the answer for us came in providing a magazine that is inclusive with people, work, the arts…. and just plain inclusive in life overall.

At The OGM, we take pride in melding business, culture, people, and places altogether and to highlight life’s rich patterns and synchronicities through the senses! That’s why you will find Quote The Raven, integrated into the fabric of Energy + Culture. Enjoy!

QUOTE THE RAVEN

Beyond any reason, science, logic and the tangible there is music. We seem to find ourselves there.

This band’s music caught my attention right away. Then it was the name of their band, “Quote the Raven”. New tunes with the wisdom of the ages: an eclectic duo that brings lyrics harmoniously to the chords of living.

“Winter is Evergreen” is my favourite song by this duo. It has smoky, alto-overtones that weave into perfect harmonies. That’s what Quote the Raven does. Jordan Coaker and Kirsten Rodden-Clarke take everything that is magical and beautiful about this grand world of ours and put it into easy-listening vibes for the soul.

We had the opportunity to get an inside look into the minds and hearts of Jorden and Kirsten and learn about their self-expression, music and vision. Here’s what they said:

THE OGM: What does Quote The Raven mean?

KIRSTEN: If we are being honest, it was the only name that stuck. Jordan had suggested so many band names and I just didn’t like any of them enough until I heard that one. He did originally suggest Quoth The Raven, because of the poem by Edgar Allan Poe, but I just thought we could make it a bit more modern. Thinking that a Raven has sung us these songs and we’re now quoting them is also a nice thought!

THE OGM: What’s the most inspiring thing about making music for you?

KIRSTEN: Personally I really like melodies. Words are important for sure, but I believe the melodies are what make people really feel it. Like poems, speeches, or songs in another language, the delivery needs to be there for you to truly enjoy it. I honestly just like making people feel something.

THE OGM: What song has been most successful?

KIRSTEN: Our single “Laser Beam” has definitely been the most successful. It has like 150,000 streams on Spotify. Jordan checks every few hours because he can’t believe it. I remember when Jordan first played it for me and I immediately loved it. We noticed the same thing happening when we started playing it for others. Which is a really good sign! Sometimes it can take a few listens before unfamiliar audiences start liking a new song, but this seemed to stick right away.

Rob Wells heard us sing it during MusicNL week in 2016 and offered to produce the single in Toronto and put a bit of his pop feel into it. That was the start of everything cool that has happened. Jordan wrote “Laser Beam” with Chris Kirby, who produced another version for the album, and asked singer/songwriter Sarah Slean if she’d like to do a string arrangement for the album version. So we now have two really cool versions of a song that we love!

We’ve been signed to Sound Of Pop Publishing (Halifax) who have been amazing and unbelievably helpful, and so many more things that have all stemmed from this song.

Sometimes you’ll create or hear a song, and just know it can go places. It’s rare, but we’re so happy to have that happen on our first full-length album.

THE OGM: What’s the vision for your musical careers?

KIRSTEN: I don’t think we ever really know how to answer that, but we’d love to have this be our full-time career. Something we can completely focus on. We’ve just always wanted to perform, sing and write. We’re trying to make it happen. Our audience keeps growing, and that’s really all we can hope for. We just want to reach the people who genuinely enjoy the music we play. Maybe do more festivals. Tour a different country. Just keep moving forward!

THE OGM: If artists hold the vision for the future, what does that say about your music?

JORDON: It says that the future is looking up and full of more collaboration. We’ve grown a lot dynamically as musicians and writers for our latest album and have only been growing since then! We know that there is so much power in collaborating together and growing together as a team and I think that applies to the world as a collective.

THE OGM: Where are ya from and how’d ya meet?

JORDON: We’re both from Conception Bay South, we met in 2011 in a vocal ensemble from there. The members of the group told us that our voices blended really well together and that we should sing together. Kirsten started joining me downtown for gigs after a bit of coaxing and we’ve been performing together ever since.

THE OGM: Where are your big gigs happening and when are you releasing the next CD?

JORDON: We’ve got a couple of bigger gigs lined up for the coming year that we can’t mention yet! But we can say that we’ll be on tour again this coming April touring around Eastern Canada!

We post all of our big news on our Facebook page and Website!

THE OGM: If you could do one thing to make Newfoundland a better place what would it be?

JORDON: Oh god *thinks about starting a political rant*. We have some of the greatest bands on the go! I’m talking comparatively to some high-level bands around the world, but the opportunities here for some of them are lacking. We’re very lucky that our music can appeal to a broad audience, but a lot of rock bands or pop artists have a really hard time touring locally. I believe that Newfoundland has the potential to be a music hub similar to Nashville, or New York. That being said if I could I’d love to make Newfoundland a bit more financially accessible so that music business reps could come here and musicians could export out without spending an arm and a leg.

THE OGM: How do you feel we can elevate the music scene in Newfoundland.

JORDON: Word of mouth! If you like an artist, go to their shows. Tell everyone! Support them, wear their merchandise, follow their social media, share their posts and be friends with them. Seems simple but that’s really all it takes. That’s what we all need as artists.

KIRSTEN: I think we also need to believe we’re good enough. Newfoundland has amazing artists. I believe there are some of the best in the world here but they don’t think they can do it simply because not many Newfoundlanders have. We can. We all just need to keep pushing forward and getting ourselves out there.

THE OGM: What’s your music all about?

JORDON: A lot of personal experiences, you know the typical love and heartbreak themes. Our music also deals with things that some people don’t want to talk about, like death and life’s journey. We think it’s really important to feel the full gambit of emotions through music, not just happiness or sadness, but a little of everything.

KIRSTEN: The new album came about in a very different way than our first EP. We wrote it with 10 other artists in 4 days. It was cool to have different perspectives and stories to relate to and write about. Some about love, some about heartbreak. One about Newfoundland. There’s a little bit of everything but the album flows together nicely. We’re still trying new things and finding our sound. It’s a constantly evolving thing.

Only so many writers could make it that day but we decided to go ahead and see what we could come up with. The lights went out and we sat around by candlelight and started writing. We get to the second verse and we’re trying to figure out the second phrase and we hear Monty, Chris and Victoria’s parrot, in the corner of the room yell “PLAY FREEBIRD.” We’re still trying to figure out how to get a parrot songwriting royalties.

What I enjoy most about my work is being able to surprise and delight clients by developing show-stopping products and projects. We did that again this year at the Atlantic Canada Petroleum Show.

For the Atlantic Canada Petroleum Show we spend a lot of time getting creative with our booth. We brainstorm and ensure that we provide an “experience” for our clients when they stop to visit us at Mile One Stadium.

We appreciate the effort people make to visit us and in return, we provide an experience that delights attendees. An experience that invites participants to join in, engage and feel good about interacting with our company and our products. This year we brainstormed on the idea of bringing ‘business and art’ together in new and creative ways. We came up with some really great stuff!

Dave Pye, Owner of SGO Designer Glass is a man with a great eye. He’s synchronized the old traditions of stained glass with new world technology and creates stunning, stained glass overlays. The results are creative and always the “wow” factor.

Deciding on “The Art of Business” for our booth as a theme this year, we invited Dave to join us in creating the elements of design for our booth. Dave and his team set to work executing the leading piece of art for the booth. Given that West White Rose is going to be such a lucrative world-class project, this year we will be profiling that project and all its opportunities for our people through Dave’s Stained Glass Overlay.

Celebrating the oil and gas industry, the environment and the arts we have merged those sectors into one theme and have constructed a full, wall-size stained glass mural, which was on display as the backdrop of our booth. This wall-sized mural incorporates the harmonious integration of man and nature, industry and art. It’s beautiful. We then transferred the design of that beautiful piece of work onto the front cover of The OGM as illustrated on the summer edition. With matching backdrop and magazine cover, our booth was a hit!

The wall-sized original piece of stained glass overlay artwork went on silent auction at ACPS and everyone visiting our booth got a complimentary copy of The OGM magazine with the artwork on the cover.

We are pleased to say that this gorgeous piece of art now, most appropriately dawns the walls of ARUP offices in St. John’s, NL.

Can you bend, turn a pitch, blow and then draw? I couldn’t either until I met Dave Mundy.

St. John’s is home to a really great harmonica player. A natural genius, Dave Mundy plays the harmonica the same as he breathes, effortlessly. Mystified by Dave’s performances and going through a 50 something mid-life crisis, it was something I had to do. Learn it.

Mastered by performers like Bob Dylan, Alan Wilson, Little Walter, John Popper, Sonny Boy Williamson and so many others, the Harmonica holds a really special place for us. It speaks to your mind, it reaches into your heart and then it goes deeper and steals your soul.

The harmonica is a little instrument with a mighty voice. It’s practical and affordable as far as musical instruments go. It can be played to sound like a mouth organ or a Mississippi saxophone. It can have a very clean, orchestral sound or a growly, slightly off-pitch (bent) sound. The harmonica is played with the breath and the tones of a harmonica are as unique as the individual playing it.

Dave Mundy is my harmonica teacher. Being completely hypnotized by his level of mastery with this instrument, I wanted to learn from a genius. It’s been an incredible experience so far. Blowing and drawing on the same note can seem like you are in two separate worlds yet you are on the same note. You can bend a note to a higher or lower pitch and make music that I’m sure only the whales can understand. In our lessons we learn about the blues minor scale and other times we just sit there in free flow, having fun doing the “Harmonica Boogie”.

Things are progressing. While I’m still a novice, I’m proud to say that I’m healing of my own heart writing songs with acoustic guitar and harmonica. It’s a trip!

Dave Mundy And The Best Kind

Dave has a long history in the music scene, He says, “I studied orchestral percussion at Depauw University as a performance major. Then I moved to Athens, GA and drummed for rock, jam, jazz and pop bands. After 3 years of carrying my drum kit around downtown Athens and setting up in places so small that I was afraid the neck of the bass guitar would whack me in the head, I started playing the harmonica. It fits in my pocket and I found myself playing it anytime, anywhere. 20 years ago you would have heard me playing on porches, in my car, even in the line at the bank. Yep, I cared not.”

Dave’s performances focus on soul music. Music that resonates with his spirit and has healing intentions. Blues, folk, funk, R&B are all deep genres of expression and Dave finds his home mostly in the blues category. He explains, “Blues comes from a deep desire to want to feel better and make sense out of the pain and suffering we see around us. I relate to that.”

Dave says, “I use my ukulele and harmonica to write songs and I think this creates a different sound. I create a relatable sound that has room for expression. I rely on rhythm, dynamics and phrasing to express emotion. The end result is familiar to the ears and hopefully inviting. When we are participating in music our brain activity lights up like a Christmas tree. We are music. Our heartbeat, our breathing, our vocal inflexions are all an invitation to be musical.”

Dave is has established himself as a recognized original songwriter. With two CD’s in the world, he’s creating music that blows your mind. Seeing him in concert is liking walking into the House of Blues in New Orleans.

Dave says, “The new CD features 15 different St. John’s musicians. I called this album, A Delta Dawn, meaning Change is on the horizon. There’s an underlying acoustic delta blues tone to the record. I like to mix the selections to reset the ears and tell a story of the human experience. As a society, we are waking up to the unseen forces at play in our world. Music is one of these unseen forces that affect us in many ways.”

Acoustically, Dave plays with the phenomenal guitar player, Callum Latta. Sometimes he plays with John Clarke, who is an amazing slide guitar player. As a full band, he plays with Rock Harley on drums, Dave Hill on bass, and Callum Latta on electric guitar. He says, “I am so blessed to be able to work with these folks. Our sound is mature, tight and high energy.”

Dave has been playing at events like the Wreckhouse Jazz and Blues festival and in venues like The Black Sheep, The Fat Cat, The Ship, The Fifth Ticket and the Peter Easton Pub. Dave Mundy and his band, The Best Kind are an astounding compliment to the raw talent of the St. John’s music scene. We are so fortunate to have them among us.

If you haven’t seen Dave Mundy & The Best Kind yet, do it!

For more than twenty years, the Atlantic Canada Petroleum Show has been a forerunner in gathering the industry together. In recent years, the decline of the industry has forced companies to reimagine how they do business – and the Atlantic Canada Petroleum Show is no exception. Since purchasing the event from dmg events in 2017, Wes Scott of EventWorx Corporation says, “It is time to reimagine exhibitions, we simply do not want continue to run the event in the same format. Much like energy companies are doing, we are reinventing the ourselves, how we operate and what we offer our customers.” Service providers (the exhibitors) want the right people attending, and attendees want access more education, training, live demonstrations and networking options.

“We have spent a lot of time talking to exhibitors and attendees, to help us shape a new focus, to a more grass-roots approach,” said Scott. The event, the premier energy exhibition for East Coast Canada, runs June 20-21 at Mile One Centre in St. John’s; and is held in conjunction with Noia’s Oil & Gas Conference.

One of the things Scott and his team are focusing on is the expectations that attendees have, which has changed over the years. “What people want from an event like the Atlantic Canada Petroleum Show is evolving. They don’t want to just come and walk the aisles – they don’t have time for that. They need solutions to their business challenges; and with that they want many more educational choices. They need to be able to come to an event and have their questions answered, and problems solved. Business, maintenance and operational efficiencies are key.”

The event will attract 120 exhibiting companies, with emphasis on educating attendees in an interactive, dynamic format, and the Meet the Experts series. Attendees will have access to a parade of experts on a variety of different topics across the supply chain. Informal discussions and interactive demonstrations between the service companies and the attendees will replace the usual doldrums of walking a trade show booth-to-booth.

There a number of new features at the show including:

the Newfoundland & Labrador Environmental Industry Association (NEIA) Clean Technology Pavilion, featuring ten of the province’s best environmental businesses;

the Interactive Demonstration Lounge, where exhibitors can meet with their customers to show their equipment and services in action;

the Meet the Expert series, featuring experts are available to meet to discuss business and technical challenges on a variety of topics;

and the VIP Industry Reception on June 20, where invited VIPs, guests, delegates and exhibitors can enjoy live entertainment, great food, and refreshing cocktails from our soon to be famous Martini Ice Bar. who hosted on the Exhibition Floor, free to everyone for qualified industry registrants.

“Business still needs to be done face-face – we can’t always hide behind email or the internet. We look forward to generating a refreshed platform for both companies and individuals to get together to find innovative supply chain challenges.”

As most people in the industry know, we publish the Oil and Gas Magazine (The OGM). As well we provide our clients with business development consulting and marketing solutions for the new digital era.

The OGM

“What I enjoy most about my work is being able to surprise and delight clients by developing show-stopping projects and we plan to do just that at the next Atlantic Canada Petroleum Show. Each year at the Atlantic Canada Petroleum Show we spend a lot of time getting creative with our booth. We brainstorm and ensure that we provide an “experience” for our clients when they stop to visit us at Mile 1 Stadium”, says Tina Olivero, Publisher of The OGM.

“We appreciate the effort people made to visit us and in return, we provide an experience that delights attendees. One that makes people stop, join in, engage and feel good about interacting with our company and our products. For example last year we had a beautiful white, sleek, Jaguar automobile, in our booth. Imagine yourself in that. We had a draw for people to win that Jag for a weekend get-a-way! What fun! We had all kinds of social media around it and it really took off, pardon the pun! It was a hit, people were taking their pictures with the Jag and so excited to win that adventure prize.”

Tina explains, “This year we have something really special happening at our booth that corresponds to the times. Given that West White Rose is going to be such a lucrative world-class project, this year we will be profiling that project and all its opportunities for our people. Celebrating industry, the environment and the arts we have merged those sectors into one theme: “The Art of Business”. We have partnered with a Dave Pye who operates the stained glass company SGO Designer Glass. Dave and his designers have constructed a full, wall-size stained glass mural, which will be on display as the backdrop of our booth. We then transferred that beautiful piece of work onto the front cover of The OGM for our summer edition which will be distributed at the Atlantic Canada Petroleum Show. Seen in the graphic below this beautiful wall-sized mural incorporates the harmonious integration of man and nature, industry and art. It’s exciting and it’s beautiful. This amazing wall-sized original piece of work will be on silent auction at the show and everyone visiting our booth will get a complimentary copy of The OGM magazine with the artwork on the cover. We are extremely pleased to be profiling our industry, our people, our art, and our industry at ACPS this June. Drop by our booth and perhaps you might we the very lucky bidder that takes this extraordinary piece of art back to your home or office”, explained Tina Olivero.

With over 30 years of global energy experience, The OGM is pleased to profile their portfolio of world class clients. Clients who come from every corner of the planet with one goal in mind – develop business that supports the production and supply of sustainable energy! From operators, major contractors, suppliers and the support base, The OGM has found a home for people wanting to bridge the communication gap and get their message to exact, precise market.

Publisher and CEO, Tina Olivero says, “Creating a globa publication that bridges to readers and buyers around the globe is what we do. Perhaps our client wants to attract investors or garnish new hires from around the world, we pride ourselves in finding creative ways to make that happen. We love the challenge of using new programmatic technology and algorithms to bridge the gap between the seeker and the solution. It’s a creative process that bridges the business development gap for our clients. I’m hoping in the not too distant future there won’t be any such thing as marketing, just ‘direct to sale’. That would make life alot easier for everyone. We have the solution that’s the closest thing to it!”

The OGM network spans over .5 million viewers online and has special print distribution for exhibitions and subscribers. It’s world class presentation puts it in a league unto itself. It’s credible, positive and always focused on connecting and uniting the industry. The game of business takes a tribe of committed and dedicated people and The OGM has the privilege of working with those people every day.

Take a video adventure through some of The OGM’s great brands and realize just how many companies entrust their message with The OGM.

Ask us about programmatic solutions where we can reach people who searched for your product or services by broadcasting out to over 2000 other magazines, thereby reaching 1-2 MILLION viewers in a month! The results are simply the most cost effective in comparison to any other medium on earth. Programmatic solutions are the future folks, so learn everything you can about it.

LEARN ABOUT PROGRAMMATIC NATIVE CONTENT
Find out more on programmatic native content right here:

SEE PROGRAMMATIC IN ACTION
See how our clients used programmatic native content to fill up their CAD training program with strategic content, a multi-media mix, and a lead generator.

HERE’S WHAT OUR CLIENT HAD TO SAY:
“Rounding up students for our CAD training was a real challenge and to be hones, we were getting nowhere. After several months of spending huge sums on traditional advertising, in came Tina Olivero from The OGM who completely revamped our marketing approach. It felt a bit like Gordon Ramsey Boot Camp. But coming out the other side, we began to see real results. The problem flipped to being overwhelmed by responses! The winning formula Tina developed combined targetted social media with sponsored content. In simple terms, our internal team managed the social media messaging which included a link to the OGM article with a call to action. The key her was the combined effects of targeted social media messaging reinforced by the OGM article which was effectively a third-party recommendation. Three months on and we’re still up there on google with a constant stream of inquiries from around the globe. The world is suddenly much smaller!” Gareth Owen – Partner and General Manager, Metroworth & North Atlantic Technical.

Enjoy the ride!

Tina Olivero

When you think about designer glass your mind can go in many directions. Churches, hotels, restaurants, offices, and homes all look better and feel better with designer glass.

It’s all about light. How glass contrasts with light. How it makes you feel, how it casts shadows and how it reflects. Colour, line, texture, composition, tone and form are all a part of the artistic elements that make up an incredible piece of designer glass art. What would your home or office look like with designer glass?

STAINED GLASS OVERLAY – SGO

SGO stands for Stained Glass Overlay. A new more advanced way of creating designer glass solutions.

Founded in 2003 in Newfoundland, Canada, the owner of SGO Designer Glass, Dave Pye says, “We have proudly transformed homes, businesses, and places of worship all across Newfoundland from our base in Mount Pearl. But things change and so do the types of things our ever-widening customer base want. Our clients have come to rely on us for everything from cabinet door panels to breathtaking entrance systems. No job is too complicated for our team, and our unique overlay process allows for designs not available with regular stained glass”.

THE ART OF STAINED GLASS

Stained Glass Overlay is not the same as stained glass. The overlay combines multiple materials (glass, multi-layered polyester film, bevels, jewels, etc.) to form a solid piece of decorative art glass. The finished product has the look and feel of traditional stained glass, but with the strength and integrity of a solid piece of safety glass. It’s easier, more affordable, and given its flexibility to do various jobs, it looks even better.

Stained Glass Overlay provides privacy, personalization, and beauty while still letting through as much light as possible. Stained Glass Overlay is lightweight, seamless, airtight, watertight, and contains ultraviolet inhibitors to protect from fading. It meets building codes for safety glass and requires little maintenance.
There is virtually no limit to the size and type of design that can be created and unsightly reinforcement bars are not needed.

The highly skilled team of artists at SGO Designer Glass create beautiful and completely unique works of stained glass art for your home, business, or place of worship. Each piece can be tailored to fit any and all spaces. With over 300 colours and textures available, Stained Glass Overlay is a great solution with a wide range of applications. Think shop window. A door that needs that extra special touch. A powerful display that lights up an entranceway. A special feature that commands your attention. How about transforming kitchen cabinet doors or shower doors? What about ceiling panels that scream artistry and detail?

That’s what SGO does. Applies the extraordinary to the mundane and brings it to life.

SAVIOUR
Written and Produced by Shawn Wiseman

Billy Joe thought he knew where to go
never believed in taking it slow
did what he pleased, whenever he pleased
until one day he fell to his knees for a saviour
he needed a saviour

It doesn’t matter if your rich or your poor
one knock and you’ll open the door
to the saviour

Bobby Sue thought she knew what to do
body of metal and a slew of tattoos
she walked a line that wasn’t so fine
came to her senses and knew it was time
for a saviour, she needed a saviour

It doesn’t matter if your rich or your poor
one knock and you’ll open the door
to the saviour

You can walk all the valleys and climb all the hills
you can seek out your fortune and go for the thrills
you can have all the diamonds and money to burn
but it adds up to nothing until you have learned
It’s the saviour, you’re needing a saviour

Richard Cane at the top of his game
had all the riches and all of the fame
got such a fright in the middle of the night
woke up to realize he just wasn’t right
with his saviour, he needed a saviour

It doesn’t matter if your rich or your poor
one knock and you’ll open the door
to the saviour

It doesn’t matter if your rich or your poor
one knock and you’ll open the door
to the saviour

____________________________

Reading lyrics and watching a music video of that same song, is often a completely different experience. Video and audio bring a story to life from the artists perspective. Words bring a story to life from the readers perspective. So here it is, the song Saviour, written by Shawn Wiseman, telling the story of lives who have all come to realize the power of a saviour.

Shawn Wiseman

Shawn Wiseman is a professional Newfoundland musician who often performs with his brother in the band Wiseman Brothers. Along with being a music teacher, Shawn has also been a well-known performer and singer/songwriter on the Newfoundland & Labrador music scene for over 30 years. Shawn’s passions have culminated into supporting and elevating the voice of Robyn Slade. Working together they have found tones and tunes that are touching those who are drawn to the alto tones of country blues rock. The latest release, “Saviour”, is a bluesy, country-rock gospel song written by Shawn Wiseman, who along with recording the song, also choreographed and edited the video. “Saviour”, has also been doing extremely well on social media. The video has received over 80,000 views in just a few weeks! They are expecting great things from this song.

Robyn Slade’s song goes viral!

Robyn Slade is a musical sensation from Gander, Newfoundland who is working hard to make her dreams become a reality. In December 2016, Robyn’s first release, “I Know Who She Is”, written by Rob Hickman, went viral on social media, and at its peak, was trending at #36 in the world on YouTube! The heartwarming song reflects the endless love of a man visiting his wife with dementia at a nursing home. The song currently has over 150,000 views on Facebook and YouTube!

Saviour is sung by Robyn Slade. Robyn only 15 years old, performs Saviour and taps into the hearts and souls of people transforming through life’s experiences. This song reminds us of what we are chasing, what we may think is a success, and what often leaves us dissatisfied with life. Saviour expresses the disconnect between ourselves and a higher power. Saviour hits on notes within ourselves that strive for money, power, fame and thrills and that hollow destination comes up empty.

A powerful Duo

The Shawn and Robyn duo also tour together doing special events, dinner functions, private events and other musically complimented happenings. Working closely together Shawn Wiseman & Robyn Slade perform acoustic versions of Classic Pop & Country hits from the past 30 years. Booking this duo you can expect a repertoire of the Eagles, CCR, Adele, Elton John, Little Big Town, and more.

If you get the chance to see them – go. You just might find your Saviour!
